CoQ10 exists in two forms: ubiquinone (oxidized) and ubiquinol (reduced). Ubiquinol is the active form in the body, with 3–8 times higher bioavailability than ubiquinone. It is especially suitable for people over 40 years old (as the body's ability to reduce CoQ10 declines with age) and heart failure patients (who experience high oxidative stress and require more reduced CoQ10).
